  Dangerous Drugs

By labeling this section "Dangerous" drugs, I seem to be saying that there are some non-dangerous drugs. Please see DRUGS if you believe this.

COUMADIN: A form of Warfin (rat poison) that is routinely given to millions of heart patients, has a deadly cumulative effect.

EPHEDRINE: ( Contained in MAHUANG, widely used in weight loss). Thirty seven people recently required hospitalization in Texas and two may have died because of this commercially available HERB. Ephedrine is a potent DRUG (considered a narcotic in some states) that speeds the heart and raises blood pressure. So as is the case with any unproven remedy, I'd be very cautious about using any herb without identifying all of its ingredients.
(Dr. Isadore Rosenfield, "Doctor What Should I Eat?")

ESTROGEN: Synthetic hormones (especially Estrogen) are admitted (now) by the medical establishment to cause cancers in women, yet the routine drugging of virtually all women past menopause with estrogen compounds made from horse urine continues. "Health Alert" Dr. Bruce West 408-372-2103

FOSAMAX (alendronate) A world wide alert has been raised over severe side effects caused by this osteoporosis Drug. Causes ulceration of the esophagus (gullet). 31 people in hospital so far.

Gamma Butyrolactone: It's in Blue Nitro, Renewtrient, Revivarant, Revivarant G, GH Revitalizer, Gamma-G, and RemForce. GBL is a chemical found in floor strippers. Marketers claim the product builds muscles, improves sleep, helps speed, weight loss, and enhances athletic and sexual performance. Sounds like they covered all the bases. Texas reported 27 deaths of people using this stuff. Side effects affect the central nervous system, seizures, unconsciousness and death; 27 in Texas alone.

HALCION: This popular tranquilizer's package insert states that in addition to agitation, hallucination, and amnesia, Halcion can cause bizarre or abnormal behavior.
What kind of bisarre, abnormal behavior? Well, a
Utah woman who took Halcion killed her mother. It has been taken off the market in England, Finland, Norway, Canada and Germany. (Dr. William Campbell Douglass)

INDOMETHICIN: A dangerous compound that can cripple you for life. And now the bad news. Indomethicin accelerates the progression of osteoarthritis by diminishing circulation in the joint. One scientist has commented in an understatement: "One must question the wisdom of using drugs that ultimately worsen the disease for which they are being used." (Dr. William Campbell Douglass' in Second Opinion August 1996)"

REGLAN: One nasty side effect of this comon drug is the onset of all of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease! You can develop trembling, difficulty speaking, mask-like face, stiffness, and twisting movements of the body.
After the doctor has induced these symptoms, he can prescribe additional drugs to treat you for the Parkinson's disease you don't have. (Dr. William Douglass Campbell)

TAGAMET: The popular ulcer drug can cause depression, confusion, hallucinations, impotence, and heart and kidney problems. But that's not the worst part. If you are on Tagamet and happen to be mowing your lawn, you may develop an epilepsy-like disease, brain tumor symptoms and MS rolled into one. (Dr. William Campbell Douglass.)

TAMOXIFEN: Prescribed as a breast-cancer preventive has now been reported in an AP release 1/22/96 as a human carcinogen. The U.S. National Cancer Institute however will continue their nationwide "experimentation" with Tamoxifen. (Please make sure you or your friends are not a part of this scene.) According to American medicine, it goes like this: "Menopause is a disease, and you need to take synthetic hormones to overcome it. These can cause cancer, but don't worry - - we have more hormones in the form of Tamoxifen to block this action" If you're lucky they'll add, "Oh and by the way, Tamoxifen unfortunately can cause all kinds of side effects, the worst of which is a virulent form of uterine cancer." Ladies those words ought to make you run from their treatment! Remember that menopause is a natural event in the life of a healthy woman (it's not a disease). "Health Alert"

ANTIARRHYTHMIC Drugs including Norpace. Tambocor, Mexitil and Ekinkaid.
Call the Director of the FDA's Office of Drug Evaluation, Dr. Robert Temple. Ask him why he had grave doubts about their safety and approved them nevertheless. (All this from Dr. Robert D. Willix Jr's "Health and Longevity" 105 West Monument St. P.O. 17477 Baltimore MD 21298-9016) Dr. Willix says that the answer will be a harrowing story of:
Inadequate safety testing.
Scandalous behind-the-scenes maneuvering by drug companies.
How the Bush administration even stepped in in their behalf.
And about top FDA officials and medical school professors who were on drug company payrolls. (Including professors whose research influences which drugs your doctor prescribes.)

PAXIL: Antidepressant, addictive, very painful to get off of. ("Health Notes" Dr. William Campbell "Second Opinion" 1-800-728-2288) The Medical Journal "Lancet" reports that antidepressants rot your teeth. Now that's depressing isn't it? Perhaps a little Prozac will help you...

Ultimate X-PHORIA: ABC reported that a teenager died after taking it.

Xenical (Weight loss side effects)

Zyban, used to help people stop smoking is an antidepressant drug called Wellbutrin renamed. If you already take an antidepressant and you add Zyban you risk seizures and more. Worst Pills, Best Pills News, Vol 3 No.10, Oct 1997.

NEW LIST of drugs that should NEVER under any circumstances
be taken by the elderly, as reported by Blue Cross/Blue Shield courtesy of Dr. George Melush:

Diabinese
Tigan
Equanil
Seconal
Nembutal
Dalmane
Levsin
Demerol
Talwin

If your Present Doctor is prescribing these, you need to do some serious thinking about your medical condition, and whether you want to trust that person again. Call Blue Shield for confirmation if you like. See Doctors.

why do you DO that?
