Mineral Supplements This suggests however, some question about the live ones. Dr. J.D. Wallach, BS, DMV, ND, recorded a tape called: "Dead Doctors Don't Lie" in which he promotes a product called Mineral Toddy. According to the literature, Mineral Toddy has been sold for some 70 years, and is according to all reports doing quite well. Much to Dr. Wallach's evident disgust, several competing companies are using his taped lecture to promote their own collated products by editing out the 2 minute section specificly on the T. J. Clark Mineral Toddy. ( I would agree that any company that steals promotional material, or allows its distributors to do so is less than honest. )Dr. Wallach's lectures are fairly controversial and even some of his peers label him a "loose cannon". The latest "Health Alert" by Dr. Bruce West (408-372-2103) has a stinging inditement of some of Dr. Wallach's claims, but if you want my opinion, Dr. West didn't get his information by listening to the tape. Wallach claims doctors die on the average at age 58. Denied by AMA and an independent health journal. John H. Renner, MD, a director of the National Council Against Health Fraud notes that Dead Doctors Don't Lie, is riddled with distortions, bogus science, and lies. I'm not sure that the company producing Mineral Toddy is all that enamored with their voluable spokesman, but they have him now, the tape is everywhere... UPDATE Feb. 24, 1997: SOARING EAGLE VENTURES has just terminated the distributorships of Dr. Joel Wallach, and is prohibiting the further use of Dr. Wallach's tapes and material which might imply a continuing relationship with Dr. Wallach. I guess they realized what those first letters behind his name stand for. There is apparently considerable money at stake, for the opponents of Dr. Wallach's Mineral Toddy have a web page out there devoted to debunking any casual reader's interest in collated minerals. "Chelated " is the answer they say, and the debate rages. Surprisingly most of the doctors (who have any interest in minerals to begin with [not many] ) are aligned with the camp that they also have a financial interest in; even Dr. Wallach. (Fancy that!) Let's not bite the hand that feeds us! you get to decide what you are going to believe; . So many readers of "The JuiceGuy" (that's where you are now, by the way) have asked me about Dr. Wallach's minerals, that I figure a short opinion will cut down on my e-mail. (Purely selfishness on my part). If you get Dr. Wallach's books and or listen to his lecture, you will be presented with a very depressing picture: That of our fields being depleted of nutrients in about 10 years. Advances in bio-engineering have now produced grains that are so prolific that production per field is many times what it used to be, thus stripping the ground of trace minerals that many times faster. We are actually starving ourselves, even as we eat our way to obesity. Read next a copy of SENATE DOCUMENT 264, 74th Congress, 2nd Session published way back in 1936, that says our soil is mostly depleted. That was over 65 years ago! Do you think things have gotten better over time since then? Are Organic Foods the answer? Well just like anything else, PERHAPS. You have to do your research. It sounds good. I would have to opinion that in most cases it is good. I started off believing in chelated minerals, began looking at colloids and was hit with all the negative literature. As soon as I ran into the negativity I figured there was more to it and sure enough after much digging and faxing, became convinced in my own mind that I had found the truth for me. The company claims that they have existing customers who have been using it for 70 years. I feel that mineral toddy has been tested sufficiently that it must be safe for most to take. Whether or not humans can gain any benefit from ingesting a colloid of clay is debatable.. we are designed to eat plants which take the colloids and through the magic of photosynthesis transform the inorganic minerals into organic minerals. In other words, though our bodies can work miracles on the junk we eat , extracting what ever it can, there are better ways to get our minerals than drinking muddy water, collated or chellated. Today we are living in a chemical soup being bombarded by electronic, magnetic, physical and mental stress that our forbearers did not have to deal with. I used to be totally against supplementation, believing that I could get everything I needed from fresh fruits and vegetables. I am learning that this is not absolutely true, Many of the new hybrids and bio-engineered foods do NOT absorb vital trace minerals from the soil like their fore-foods do, so that some degree of supplementation is needed to protect us in this new world of ours. This is why I take concentrated Fruits and Vegetables in capsule form from the leading manufacturer of this product; the only one with documentation of its bio-availability, AND its ability to enhance the immune system..
