ELIMINATION DIET

for the

Identification of Food Allergies

This page was produced for Ferrell Sparks.

Some foods can cause powerful disease symptoms. They can range from digestive problems, skin problems, sinus congestion, rheumatoid, and pain to headaches. Not only is this not fun, but it can be very expensive to determine which food/s cause the problem.

Conventional medicine will have little interest and probably less luck in discovering a food allergy, but will undertake the task if your wallet is fat enough, or you are covered by insurance.

You may be tempted to take one of those magic bullets out there. Beta carotene, blue green algae, Coenzyme-Q10, chromium picolate, DHEA, ginko balboa, germanium, L-carnitene, melatonin, spirilina, all seem to offer solutions for a myriad of problems, but in all likelihood will not do much for food allergies. If one of these bullets makes you feel better, you have other problems than food allergies.

My theory is that Americans are so sick that almost anything that even resembles a part of a real food, will have a positive affect on them. Take someone who is almost to ABSOLUTE HEALTH, and give them one of these single "nutrients", and it probably won't have any positive effect at all. (they can make you feel sick and reduce your overall vitality while your body gets rid of them.). Give me a drug, or one of those strong herbs , and I will get sick. They are poisons.

This ELIMINATION DIET is extremely powerful, and it doesn't cost anything at all !

Essentially you are going on a fruit diet first to purge your digestive system of what ever you have been eating, and to start a mild detoxification process. Drink plenty of distilled water, and limit your food to either fresh seedless grapes, or watermelon, . (One or the other, not both.) In two days or at least in five days, the symptoms you have been experiencing should go away or subside. (Unless you happen to be allergic to grapes or watermelon, "most unlikely"). If the symptoms do go away, then you have some kind of a food allergy. If they don't subside in a week, then probably food is not your problem.

Please make sure your doctor is aware of your fasting / restrictive diet program.

Now that your symptoms are gone, you can start looking for the culprit by adding one food at a time to your mono-diet. After a week on this kind of fare, your food allergies should have ended and you should be feeling well. If this is the case, then you should begin to add other foods to the diet, but only one at a time, to determine if any of them causes your allergic reactions. For testing purposes, each "new" food should be eaten in large amounts three times a day for two days.

If the food does not cause a reaction, you can conclude that it is non-allergenic. Most reactions occur within a few hours, but some do not show up for several days. Each food must be tested individually; do not introduce two new foods at once. When you do have an allergic reaction to a specific food, you must wait four to seven days before testing the next item. This interval gives you the time you need to clear your system of that allergy-causing food.

DO NOT TAKE THIS INFORMATION AS PERSONAL MEDICAL ADVICE. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR DIET IF YOU ARE ILL, OR MEDICATION WITHOUT THE ADVICE OF A QUALIFIED HEALTH CARE PROVIDER

You will probably know within 2 days when you locate the offending food. The most likely problem foods are:  MILK & dairy products, WHEAT, CORN, Nuts, PORK, Eggs, Shellfish, Fish, and CHOCOLATE

HEY! This diet isn't all that bad, (chocolate for two days!!!!) (Boy that ought to make you sick). Then try citrus fruits, tomatoes, and strawberries.

Once you have figured out what bothers you, don't eat it again for at least a year. Spend some time studying FOOD and what it does to and for you. Start to take personal responsibility for what you put in your body, and make sure it enhances your immune system. If you eat something and it doesn't agree with you, put it on your list of no-nos.

PLEASE don't emulate that empty-headed woman on TV who has a pill for her mother, to kill the heartburn symptoms, so now old ma can eat a big pizza, the very thing her body wants to reject. If something you ate hurts you, don't take a pill, take a lesson: go thee and do that no more.

By the way, if you are unable or unwilling to tolerate a 5-day fast, there is only one truly accurate blood test that I know of for food allergies. It is called the IGG-4 test by Metametrix Lab 1-770-446-5483. Have your doctor call for a test kit.

Please go to Disease.

If you have not done so already please go to MISSION STATEMENT, and follow the numbers. It is a forward to this 250 subject nutritional website. When you finish that it will drop you into the INDEX. and you can check out "Fruits and vegetables, why eat them".
