Another Rap on Estrogen

Estrogen, as used by 98 % of practicing physicians, is counterproductive and harmful. A new study reveals that estrogen, administered via oral contraceptive or in hormone supplements, may help trigger a painful facial-joint disorder in women.

The odds of referral (for TMD treatment) among supplemental estrogen users increased approximately 77% compared to nonusers at a 300,000 member West Coast based HMO.

Natural forms of both hormones are available by prescription, so why don't doctors prescribe natural forms of human hormones? Well they probably never will, as they are not patentable and so doctors will never hear about them from their local drug salesman.

After admitting that estrogen causes uterine cancer, physicians readily prescribed it for all women who had a hysterectomy.  After all you can't get cancer from estrogen in an organ that has been removed. Unfortunately the same estrogen will also cause all kinds of other problems -- including a doubling of the risk for cancer of the ovaries (as reported in March 2001 JAMA).

Another study has determined that if you need estrogen, then you also need progesterone. The curious thing here is that doctors who learn this and prescribe both synthetic (carcinogenic) estrogen, and synthetic (carcinogenic) progesterone may discover that this synthetic combination causes twice the risk of suicide in their patients.

The above material was gleaned from Second Opinion, September 1998 by Dr. William Campbell Douglas; 1-800-728-2288 Call and get a subscription, it's a great newsletter.

Two new studies, British Medical Journal, and the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), conclude: "We cannot ... be completely confident that long term (preventive) estrogen is effective". The study of estrogen in women with pre-existing heart disease found that in those women given the combination of estrogen (Premarin) and progestin (Provera), there was no (NO) reduction in the occurrence of heart attacks, strokes, heart failure, or other kinds of cardiovascular problems compared to the other half of the test group who received dummy pills. Worse, compared to the other women taking the dummy pill, the study found that women taking these hormones had greater occurrences of gall bladder disease and blood clots in the veins of their legs, often resulting in pulmonary embolism, a blockage of the blood vessels in the lungs caused when the blood clots break loose. The authors of this study concluded that "We do not recommend starting this treatment (estrogen and progestin) for the purpose of secondary prevention ( in women with pre-existing coronary disease)." (Worst Pills - Best Pills November 1998)

At its best this witche's brew of hormones will do nothing to replace the lost bone cells. And continued use of thius concoction greatly increases your risk of cancer. During pregnancy it can even create abnormal sex organs in the baby. It can also bring on:
High blood pressure
Depression
Nausea
Fever
Weight gain
Insomnia
Diabetes
Abnormal blood clotting
Good stuff what? and what does this say about someone who recommends this to you without warning you of the side effects?

Go to a doctor who understands NATURAL hormone therapy, not estrogen made from horse urine. Call ACAM (in CA: 714-583-7666; outside CA: 800-532-3688 for a doctor in your area.
